People at Work Photos- AnnaRuth Bernhardt

AnnaRuth Bernhardt, 20, cutting her shirts for her business "Style with Sassafras"

Bernhardt designs her own shirts out of old T-shirts.

All of Bernhardt's shirts are cut freehanded.

Bernhardt styles, and pulls the incisions to create a design on the shirt.

Each shirt is unique, some are primarily focused on the cut designs, others have more emphasis on the printed design displayed on the fronts of the shirts.

All of Bernhardt's designs are done free hand with a bleach pen.

Bernhardt loves "Do it Yourself" projects, especially when it entails making something she already owns more unique.

"Style with Sassafras" is sold through her blog, and at the local shop "The Closet"

She can make these shirts in the comfort of her own home, at her leisure.
She comes up with the designs from her imagination, and also from finding different shirt ideas online. Then she makes them freehanded.

Bernhardt takes something mundane and ordinary and transforms it to something unique and interesting

Her designs are original, she wants to have her own "style"

She takes at least a half hour per shirt, depending on the designs they can go for hours.

She usually charges around $15 per shirt

Each finished product is put on her blog www.stylewithsassafras.blogspot.com

She makes all different sizes to fit everyone differently

Every shirt is done by hand and with thought. No two shirts are the same. There are different colors, sizes, designs and cuts. She weaves the cuts differently every time.
